She said “It was great to network with others working in the field of families and substance misuse. Adfam and Al-Anon members were present so it was a good opportunity to find out more about the services offered by these organisations.
The conference showcased the good work that DHI have done with service users sharing their own stories of learning how to cope with a loved-one’s addiction. It was striking in how similar their accounts were to those of FOL service users and it was very heart-warming to listen to them. We also heard from a recovering drug addict about her experiences and the support she’d received.
Questions put to the panel of DHI members and a police officer, as well as an opportunity for group discussion around relevant topics, were informative.”
